Laguna Beach – Dead Man’s Reef

Thursday, November 22, 2007 23:29 | Filled in Dive Logs

Baby FishLast Thursday I took a personal day off work and hit the water.  I took care of a few things in the morning and made it to Laguna Beach in the afternoon.  When I arrived at the Crescent Bay the conditions looked ideal.  The surf was 1 to 2 feet with almost no chop.  I began to hope that the Laguna Sea Sports dive report may have been conservative with the visibility report.

Unfortunately when I finally got in the water I quickly realized the water was a little murky. (10 to 12 feet)  Since the water seemed fairly free of particulates I can only assume a recent algae bloom was causing the low viz.  The water wasn’t as clear as I may have wanted, but it was still a wonderful dive at Dead Man’s.   Check out the pictures at (13 images).

Can someone please help me identify the Baby Fish?
